South Asia must revisit the concept of the South Asian identity and explore a brighter common future beyond its immediate challenges and predicaments, said Pakistani academic Dr.Adil Najam, Professor of International Relations and Earth and Environment at Boston University.
South and South-West Asia epitomizes the challenge of food security, both in terms of the present gaps and future challenges for its population. Food insecurity and hunger are enormously prevalent within the sub-region and is evidence of the utter lack of inclusive development. Even more worrisome is the fact that progress in achieving food security has stalled, in spite of improvements in other dimensions of economic prosperity.
