Recruitment for Research Assistant/ Coordinator (Temporary, Full Time)

SAU Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) invites application for the post of Research coordinator under the project THE POETIC IMAGINING OF SOUTH ASIA

 

Required Qualification: At least MA in sociology, history, social sciences or literary studies. The successful candidate will have strong credentials on conference organization and research management. Editorial and proofreading skills are desired. Preference will be given to those who have considerable research experience on the project topic, i.e., “The Poetic Imagining(s) of South Asia”.

 

Nature of Work:

Work closely with Principal Investigator (PI) towards organizing an international conference. This will involve managing dissemination of the CFP to a wide body of academic and literary circles. Once abstracts are received, the RC will be responsible for managing all correspondence with potential conference participants including assisting the PI in selecting abstracts. RC will also be responsible for periodic follow ups with selected participants regarding timely paper submission in time for the conference.

 

The RC will be responsible for all logistical and financial aspects of organizing the conference including seeking of all clearances and maintaining of a filing system.

After the conference, the RC will work closely with the admin and finance units of SAU to settle all finance and paperwork.

 

RC will prepare a draft of the conference proceedings and will be responsible for liaising with paper presenters and discussants to ensure full documentation.

 

Salary: Rs 35,000 per month (all inclusive)

 

Duration: 15 February – 15 May 2019

Positions are temporary but may be extended for other related assignments based upon performance.
