This workshop covers two major research domains of Computer Science viz. Computational Intelligence (CI) and Machine Learning (ML). In the last few decades, CI and ML have attracted huge interest of research community.
CI is a set of nature-inspired computational methodologies and approaches to address complex real-world problems, to which mathematical or traditional modeling is not useful. The workshop would focus on the theory, design, application, and development of computational paradigms emphasizing neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy systems, evolutionary programming, and hybrid intelligent systems.
ML is an amalgamation of pattern recognition and computational learning techniques to enable the machine to learn, reason and engage with the real-world. It combines deep theory from areas as diverse as Statistics, Engineering and Biology with many practical and relevant real life applications.
The relevance of computational intelligence and machine learning is evident in Pattern Recognition, Big Data, Computer Vision, Text Analytics and Bioinformatics among others. The CIML’17 features a three-day international workshop which includes academic sessions by experts to promote different aspects of CI and ML. The workshop co-locates renowned researchers, academicians and industry professionals at one single location, providing a unique opportunity to encourage collaborations and innovations in all areas of CI and ML.
South Asian University (SAU) is an international university established by the eight member nations of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
SAU started its operations from the academic year 2010. The university now offers post-graduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines that include Development Economics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Sociology, International Relations and Law. It will ultimately have 11 post-graduate faculties and a faculty of undergraduate studies. SAU attracts students from all member nations and its degrees are recognised by all the eight SAARC countries.
