             Faculty
             Sanjay Chaturvedi, Professor and Dean FSS, Lead Author for Chapter 10 (Asia) of Working Group II of the
             Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, attended the
             LeadAuthors’MeetingatDurban,SouthAfricaon 20-25January2019.

             Sanjay Chaturvedi, Professor and Dean FSS, was the Keynote Speaker, 3rd Mandala Dialogue on ‘China’s
             External Economic Engagement’, organized by The Nehru Memorial Museum & Library, on 20 December
             2018. He also made another Keynote Address at the International Workshop, ‘Ocean Governance:
             EmergingIssues’,atUniversityofPondicherry,on23February 2019.


             Dr. Muhammad Abulaish, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, delivered a keynote
             talk on "Data Analytics as a Key Enabler for Smart Computing" at the 4th InternationalConference on ICT
             with Smart Computing and 9th National Students’ Conference on Information Technology (NaSCoIT),
             Kathmandu,Nepalon29thDecember2018.

             Medha Bisht, Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations, was invited to participate as a
             waterexpert fromSouthAsia, bythe WaterInitiative SouthandCentralAsiafrom13-14December2018,
             Nazabayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan. The research partnership was facilitated by Imperial College,
             London,BritishCouncil,andNazarbayevUniversity,Kazakhstan.

             Shweta Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations,was selected as an
             InternationalExpertforthe‘UNWomenExpertMeetingonPopulism,NationalismandGenderEqualityin
             SouthandSouthEastAsia’,11thDecember2018,Bangkok,Thailand.


             AwardofDoctorofPhilosophy

             Abhishek Singh Rathore from Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology has been declared successful in
             the viva voce examination for Doctor of Philosophy  on 3 December 2018 for his thesis titled “Engineering
             scFv antibody against conserved regions of Dengue virus envelope proteins” , which was completed under
             thesupervisionofDr.RinkooDeviGupta.
             Students


             Parthiban B, PhD Scholar in the Faculty of Legal Studies, was invited to deliver a talk at the Keba Mbaye
             Conference on African Approaches to International Law 5-6 December 2018 at the Center for Human
             Rights,UniversityofPretoria,Pretoria,SouthAfrica.

             MZ Ashraful, PhD Scholar in the Faculty of Legal Studies, has been awarded scholarship to attend the
             Winter Courses on International Law (7 - 25 January 2019), The Hague Academy of International Law, The
             Netherlands. He has also been awarded partial support to attend and present doctoral research at the
             RIDOC 2018: Rijeka Doctoral Conference, Rijeka, Croatia on 7 December 2018 on the topic ‘Should
             BangladeshAccedetheUnitedNationsConventiononInternationalSaleofGoods?'attheworkshop.

             Alumni

             Kalyan Kumar, an alumna of the Department of Sociology, has been awarded the Outstanding Early
             Career Paper Award of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Large-Scale Cross-
             National Studies in Education (LCSE) SIG for his contribution “Effects of Decentralisation in School
             Management on Student Learning: Empirical Analysis of Young Lives Survey Data Using Multi-Level
             Modelling”
