The Urdu translation of the Sinhala novel Mey Rahas Kuluwen Ebenna
(2014) by Kaushalya Kumarasinghe, PhD scholar of the Department of
Sociology, was jointly undertaken by the author and the Urdu translator
AjmalKamal,PhDscholaroftheDepartmentofSociology,twoweeksafter
both joined the MPhil/PhD programme at SAU in August 2016. Since they
did not know each other's language, the collaborative translation was
done using English as the medium of communication between the author
and translator. The Urdu translation titled Is Chhupi Hui Khirki Main Jhanko
was completed in about two years and was published in the 105th issue of
theliteraryjournalAaj,Karachi,inDecember2018andasabookinFebruary
2019. Ajmal Kamal has also finalized the Hindi version of the translation
whichisgoingtobepublishedunderthesametitleasUrdusoon.

Development of Telematics, India. Her research interest includes performance modelling
ofInternetofThings (IoT),blockchain,stochasticmodellingandqueuingtheory.
IshitaDey,AssistantProfessor,DepartmentofSociology:Shewasearlieramemberofthe
faculty at Ambedkar University Delhi. She specialises in the study of Food, Labour and
ForcedMigration.
Irfanullah Farooqi, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology: He was earlier with the
Department of Sociology, Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia. He
specialises in the studies of Islam and Muslims in South Asia, Urdu Studies, South Asian
SocialThought,SociologyofLiterature,andSociologyofEducation.
Bibhupada Tripathy, Deputy Registrar (Administration): He was earlier working with
Principal Accountant General (Civil Audit), Bhubaneswar and National Institute of
Science Education and Research, an Autonomous Institute under DAE, Government of
IndiainBhubaneswar,Odisha.
B.Mallesha,AssistantRegistrar(Administration):HewasearlierworkingwithAmbedkar
University Delhi as an Assistant Registrar, and previously in Dr Ambedkar Foundation,
MinistryofSocialJusticeandEmpowerment,GovernmentofIndia.
