Panel Discussion on Capital Accumulation & the Organizational Question

News: The Department of Sociology, Faculty of
Social Sciences, South Asian University, in
association with Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (South
Asia), organized a panel discussion and an
International Conference at Patna University on 18-
19 October on “Capital Accumulation & the
Organizational Question”. Rosa Luxemburg’s
works have informed debates on accumulation and
organizational questions. The events were an effort
to remember her contributions as a leading theorist
affecting international political debates and to
reflect on these two areas by contemporanising her
works. The two events saw a massive turnout of
intellectuals, scholars and academicians from the region, and was hugely covered by the print media.
Panel Discussion and International Conference featured eminent speakers. Peter Hudis, an international
expert on Rosa Luxemburg, was the Keynote Speaker. Other speakers included Arun Kamal, a Sahitya
Akademi award winner poet and essayist , K. N. Paswan, former pro-VC of Magadh University, Sobhanlal
Datta Gupta, Professor at Kolkata University, Akshay Kumar, Sasanka Perera, Navin Chandra and Anish
Ankur.
Viruses in the News: An annual poster exhibition by FLSB Students
New Delhi (14.11.2019) SAU FLSB News: An infectious disease can spread around the world in days. Human
factors such as global population, urbanization and industrialization have quickened the pace of virus
transmission. What are the efforts going on globally to prevent disease burden? To answer this question,
Msc ( Biotechnology) third semester students presented a poster exhibition on 14 November 2019. The
exhibition was organised by Professor Ritu Gaur and inaugurated by the Acting President, Dr. AVS
Ramesh Chandra. The students talked about several deadly viruses such as HIV, Influenza, Ebola, Zika,
SARS, Hepatitis, Dengue, Chikungunya and many more. Dr. Ramesh Chandra applauded the students for
their brilliant display and listened to each of them intently. The main goal of this annual exhibition was to
raise public awareness about pandemic risks with the perspective that human, animal and environmental
health are inter-connected.
