University, Prague, on November 22, 2019. Dr. AVS Ramesh Chandra, Acting President, SAU, warmly
welcomed the delegation. This was followed by brief remarks from Ambassador Hovorka and Professor
Zima, on the scope of their visit and their keen interest in the South Asian University. The interactive
session entailed a discussion on various programmes offered by Charles University and avenues for
collaboration. The event was coordinated and chaired by Dr. Soumita Basu from the Department of
International Relations.

Visit by delegation from the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa

New Delhi (07.11.2019) SAU DIR News: The Department of International Relations hosted a delegation from
the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa, on 7 November 2019. The delegation was led
by Mr. Cornelius Hagenmeier (Director: Internationalisation) and included, among others, Professor Heidi
Hudson (Dean, Faculty of the Humanities) and Dr. Stephanie Cawood (Director, Center of Gender and
Africa Studies). Dr. AVS Ramesh Chandra, Acting President, SAU and Professor Sanjay Chaturvedi, Dean,
Faculty of Social Sciences spearheaded the interactive session. A number of areas for potential research
collaboration were discussed during the meeting. Dr. Soumita Basu coordinated the delegation’s visit to
the South Asian University.
