SAU FMCS News (21-22.02.2020) New Delhi: A two-day workshop on numerical methods in scientific
computing was held at the Department of Mathematics during 21-22 February 2020. The program started
withawelcomeremarkbyProf.R.K.Mohanty.75participantsattendedtheworkshop.Prof.T.Basakfrom
IIT Madras covered Finite Element Analysis, and Prof H. Kumar from IIT Delhi discussed the Finite Volume
MethodforSolvingDifferentialEquationsandVariousApplicationsoftherelatedmethod.Apartfromthe
theoretical discussion, practical and laboratory modules of scientific techniques were also discussed in
detail. The workshop was jointly funded by the Science & Engineering Research Board, Government of
IndiaandSouthAsianUniversity,NewDelhi.
