two sessions on Frontiers in Biotechnology in which several highly distinguished speakers from India,
Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Italy presented their most exciting research developments and latest
breakthroughs in science. Apart from invited talks, several students and faculties presented their
research work in two poster sessions (~ 45 posters). The conference included a panel discussion on
“Research funding opportunities in SAARC” in which the participants were apprised about various ways
to generate extramural research funding. Another important panel discussion focussed on ways for
“EnhancingcollaborationswithinSAARC”.Thepanelmembersreiteratedtheneedtohaveaformalbody
toinitiateandpromoteassociationbetweenBiotechnologistsfromtheSAARCcountries.
There was a vibrant cultural evening comprising of regional songs and dances performed by FLSB
students and staff. The conference ended with valedictory function in which 5 Best Poster awards were
distributed.SeveralparticipantsenjoyedashortDelhicitytourorganizedbyFLSB.
