Students visit to International Conference on Emergent pollutants and Climate Resilience at Rajdhani College, Delhi University

The International Conference on Emergent Pollutants and Climate Resilience (ICEPCR 2026) was jointly organized by the Environment Awareness Committee, Rajdhani College, and the Department of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi from 29th to 30th January 2026 in Rajdhani College, University of Delhi. The two-day international conference brought together academicians, policy holders, researchers, scientists and students to deliberate on emerging environmental pollutants, climate change, and resilience strategies.

A major highlight of the inaugural session was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Vandana Mishra, who spoke extensively on the impact of the textile and cloth industry on water pollution, particularly focusing on the role of synthetic dyes and hazardous chemicals, emphasizing the need for sustainable industrial practices and effective effluent treatment systems. The technical sessions included expert lectures by national and international scholars. Distinguished lecturers from Japan, Prof. Yutaka Matsumoto from the Institute for Space–Earth Environmental Research, Japan, and Prof. Sachiko Hayashida from Nara Women’s University, Japan, delivered insightful presentations on atmospheric processes, environmental monitoring, and climate dynamics. These sessions also included oral and poster presentations, encouraging scholarly interaction.

During the session on climate change and solutions, we participated as poster presenters with posters titled “Chemistry Meets Conservation: MOFs as Game Changers in Water Purification Technologies”, “Chemistry That Heals Without Harm: Green Routes to Five-Membered N-Heterocycles” and “C4 Biomimetic BTX Reactor”.

Chemistry Laboratory Visit – After the conference sessions on 30th January 2026, we undertook an educational visit to a fully functional Chemistry Laboratory. The visit was facilitated by Dr. Ritu Payal, following a request by our professor Dr. Trapti Aggarwal, to familiarise us with the laboratory instruments. We were introduced to bench chemicals, laboratory safety practices, and the working principles of key analytical instruments.

Overall, the conference was an academically enriching experience. The keynote lecture, international expert talks, technical sessions, poster presentation, special appreciation award, and the chemistry laboratory visit collectively deepened our understanding of environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.
