The Faculty of Physical Sciences (FPS) is a newly established Faculty at South Asian University. Its primary focus is on promoting advanced research and academic excellence in Physical Sciences. With a strong vision to contribute to the scientific community, it is set to commence its academic activities from this year with the launch of the PhD programme in Physics. Also, the University is going to start 5-year Integrated BS-MS programme in Interdisciplinary Sciences with Physics as one of the Science disciplines. With the introduction of this programme, the Faculty of Physical Sciences would offer BS as well as MS in Physical Sciences.
Although the FPS is at the initial stage of its development, it is committed to building a robust academic and research environment. The PhD programme has been designed to align with current advancements in Physics and to foster independent, high-quality research. The curriculum will offer a blend of theoretical foundations and research opportunities, aimed at preparing scholars for careers in academia, research institutions, and industry.
The FPS plans to host seminars, workshops, and collaborative academic events to ensure active engagement with the broader scientific community. Guest lectures by eminent physicists and interactions with researchers will be integral to enriching the academic experience of the research scholars.
