The Faculty of Social Sciences at South Asian University was initiated in 2011. At present, it consists of the Department of Sociology and the proposed Department of Communication and Sustainability. The Faculty of Social Sciences, South Asian University is known for creating a forum for newer forms of knowledge that comprehends and represents the South Asian context with a more authoritative and nuanced voice.
Faculty is known for innovative pedagogy and cutting edge research supported by national and international research bodies and deliverables that include journal articles, monographs, reports, audio-video archives and art installations.
