The Faculty of Physical Sciences (FPS) successfully organized an invited talk on 18 November 2025, featuring the distinguished speaker Prof. Anu Venugopalan from the University School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

The talk was delivered on the topic “From Quanta to Qubits: Riding the Quantum Wave”, where the speaker presented a brief, insightful, and excellent discussion on the fascinating journey from quantum mechanics to quantum computing.

The session commenced with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Ankita Gaur, Faculty Member, FPS, who greeted the honourable guest and set an engaging tone for the event. The talk was graced by the welcome address by Dr. Jyotsna Sharma, Associate Dean, FPS. The presence of eminent academicians, including Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean, FIDS, and Prof. Avinash C. Sharma, a renowned professor at SAU, and a gathering of more than 150 audience added significance to the occasion.

Following the insightful and inspiring discussion by the speaker, Dr. Jyotsna Sharma, Associate Dean, FPS, presented a memento to Prof. Anu Venugopalan as a token of appreciation on behalf of the Faculty of Physical Sciences. The gesture was met with enthusiastic applause from the students, reflecting their excitement and gratitude for the valuable academic interaction.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks provided by Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean, FIDS.
