The Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology offers a two-year (four semesters) academic programme in MSc Biotechnology. The M.Sc. program, started in the year 2011, is designed to train young minds to develop into responsible scientists. In the last 15 years, students graduating from FLSB have spread out throughout the globe in various academic (Ph.D. positions), industrial or teaching positions at prestigious institutions. The endeavor of the Faculty is to teach the latest concepts and research technologies and prepare students for careers in research and teaching in modern biology and biotechnology. In addition to the traditional core areas of Biochemistry, Cell biology, Molecular biology, Microbiology, Biostatistics, and Immunology, various electives such as Biochemical engineering, Bioinformatics, Cancer biology, Neurosciences, Plant molecular biology, Protein engineering, Tissue engineering, and Virology, are offered. Emerging technological areas have been included in the teaching curriculum such as climate change and AI/machine learning. In addition to the theory courses, a major component of the curriculum at FLSB is Laboratory Techniques and projects in the final semester.
