Students’ Achievements in 2023

1. Ebrahim Khalil presented a poster titled ‘Biohydrogen production from native crude glycerol by alcohol, salt, surfactant resistant clostridium strain’ at BSBMB-SABC-OMC international conference 2023 on Molecules of Life for Sustainability held at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, 3-5th February, 2023.

2. Ebrahim Khalil presented a poster titled ‘A strategy of sequential one factor-at-a-time optimization process significantly enhances hydrogen production from wild type Clostridium strain by using crude glycerol as major substrate’ at the 14^th AFOB Regional Symposium 2023 (ARS-2022) held at Regional Center for Biotechnology, Faridabad, Haryana, 27-29^th April 2023.

3. 16. Ankita, received 2023- Protein Science Young Investigator Travel Awards from an international organization The Protein Society https://www.proteinsociety.org/ .

17. Dhama Nidhi, Ph.D. scholar from the Protein Science Laboratory, was awarded a Travel Grant from an international organization “The Protein Society” https://www.proteinsociety.org/ .

18. Parween Fauzia completed her D. in 2022 from the Protein Science Laboratory and she is currently working at a post-doctoral position in the University of Texas, USA.

19. Musa Hossain presented a poster titled ‘DDX3-mediated miR-141 expression promotes NAFLD by targeting SIRT1/autophagy axis’ at Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL-2023) from August 3 to August 6 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

20. Amrendra Kumar Sah, presented a poster titled ‘miR-122 overexpression induces autophagy via PKM2 downregulation in Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease’ at Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL-2023) from August 3 to August 6 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

21. Hathi, U. P. S. presented a poster titled “Biosynthesis of Multimethylated Molecules in Microbial Host Cells by overexpressing mycobacterial genes in dual vector system’, at the Three-day Symposium “Towards End TB: Achievements, Challenges and Future Directions”, held at M. K. Bhan Auditorium, Translational Health Science and Technology Institute, Faridabad, India., March 23-25, 2023.

22. Nerina Shahi was awarded with her PhD degree in 2023 and she is currently working as Post-Doctoral Fellow at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy.

23. Mohammad Umar presented a poster titled “Investigating the Role of Unani Medicines for the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis.” AYURYOG-International Ayurveda Conference at Varanasi from 24-27^th of February 2023 organized by Ayuryog and Himalayan Herbal Expo and received the Best Poster Award.

24. Nitish Mishra presented a poster titled ‘Mechanism of Unani Medicines Halela Siyah & Barg-e-Shahtra for the treatment of Atopic Dermatitis in Arogya Sangosthi’ organised by Namo Gange Trust -6^th edition of Health and Wellness Expo 2023 from 2^nd to 4^th June 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

25. Shirani Punniyamoorthi participated on Science 20 conference on connecting science and culture, held in Bhopal from 16th to 17th of June, 2023.

26. Shirani Punniyamoorthi presented a poster titled ‘Elucidating the role of NONO (Non-Pou containing octamer-binding) protein in breast cancer pathogenesis’ in 4^thIndian Cancer Genome Atlas conference, held at IISER Pune from 6th to 8th of October, 2023.

27. Vivek Pandey presented a poster titled ‘Role of universally conserved SUPT5H in Lung Cancer progression’ European Association of Cancer Research (EACR) annual congress 2023, Italy (12 June 2023 to 15 June 2023). To attend the meeting, he has received two national travel grants from DST-SERB-Travel Grant Awarded: DST-SERB (Includes to and Fro Airfare, Visa Charges, Registration charges) and CSIR: CSIR travel support (50% Airfare).

28. Aniket Bhattacharyya was awarded with a Ph.D. degree for the commendable research carried out under the supervision of Dr.A.K.R.Gobinath, his Ph.D thesis titled as “Development of cost-effective bioprocess for production of Trametes Cinnabarina laccase (lac1) from suspended and immobilized recombinant Pichia pastoris“.

29. Madhu was awarded with a Ph.D. degree in February 2023 under the supervision of Prof Ritu Gaur. She is currently a Postdoctoral research fellow at Center for Drug Design, University of Minnesota, USA.
