The BA (Honours) in Media, Arts and Design program at South Asian University is a comprehensive four-year academic program designed to equip students with a strong foundation and specialized skills in media, arts, and design. The first four semesters offer common foundational courses, after which students choose one of five Tracks/Majors from the fifth semester onwards: Media Management, Screen Production and AI, Visual Design and Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Aesthetics, and Journalism and Writing Styles. Students gain in-depth knowledge of their discipline and develop the skills needed to meet the challenges of a highly competitive environment.
Program Focus
The program is multidisciplinary in nature and aligned with NEP 2020 as well as similar policies of other SAARC nations. It emphasizes practice-based and industry-oriented learning, drawing inspiration from international models of media education. A strong focus is placed on innovation, creativity, and the effective use of technology.

Highlights of the Program
The program has a duration of four years with a total of 190 credits. Students complete 48 credits in the first year, another 48 credits in the second year, 49 credits in the third year, and 45 credits in the fourth year.
An exit option is available after the successful completion of the third year.
Eligibility
Candidates must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board in any discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade (relaxation applicable as per SAU norms).
