South Asian University Launches Medical Series with Inspiring Lecture on Eye Health on World Sight Day
South Asian University started a Medical Series for Public Awareness on World Sight Day i,e 9.10.2025. It is a vision of our Hon’ble President Prof. K. K. Aggarwal. In this series the first lecture happened on World Sight Day on the topic “Solving Common Eye Problems to Improve Quality of Life” by Dr. Jeevan S Titiyal, Padma Shree Awardee who is a Former Chief, R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, A.I.I.M.S, New Delhi.
The programme was curated and chaired by Dr. Ashwini Kumar who is a celebrity medical professional and also professional in performing arts.
The lecture was attended by more than 80 students, staff and faculty members. The lecture was regarding several diseases of eye among children, youth and old age people. He also suggested various remedies and precautions to be taken in order to keep the eyes healthy. The session was followed by Question and Answer session mainly from students and faculty members.
Programme was also attended by faculty members and staff and students of AIIMS, Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS). In the end Dr. Ashwani Kumar entertained the crowd with his songs which was quite related to World Sight Day.
The second lecture in the series will be held on the day of World Diabetes Day.
