Dr. Abinash Kumar Jha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Arts & Design and Director (PR & Media) at South Asian University. He brings over three decades of experience spanning journalism, media education, academic leadership, digital media, and multimedia production.

At South Asian University, Dr. Jha has been actively involved in teaching, curriculum development, academic initiatives, and strategic communication. He oversees the University’s social media, photography, videography, and digital outreach initiatives.

Prior to joining South Asian University, he held senior academic positions including Professor & Dean at Galgotias University and Associate Professor at Amity University, where he contributed to curriculum design, research, academic administration, and the development of digital media programmes.

Dr. Jha has extensive professional experience in the Indian media industry, having served as Chief Editor at Punjab Kesari, Digital/Multimedia Editor at ANI, Digital Editor at Dainik Jagran, Senior Correspondent and News Development Coordinator at United News of India, and Sub-editor at The Hindustan Times. His work has encompassed print, digital journalism, multimedia production, editorial leadership, and media innovation.

He holds a PhD in Zoology, along with postgraduate diplomas in Journalism & Mass Communication and Business Management. He has received several honours for his contributions to journalism and digital media, including the Star News Award for outstanding work in journalism and the Prakriti – The Nature Award for creative and innovative work in digital media.
