Dr. Praveen is a senior ICT scientist, academician, researcher and practitioner with over 30 years of experience spanning government, academia, and industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Applications, along with a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering, Master in Business Administration, Master in Computer Applications and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Law & Cyber Forensics.
He currently serves as Director – ICT and Associate Professor (Senior Grade) at South Asian University, actively engaged in teaching, research supervision, capacity building, and institutional ICT transformation. His academic and professional expertise lies in Future Internet Technologies, IPv6, DNS, Cybersecurity, Digital Accessibility, IoT and ICT policy.
He has led and architected several national and international flagship initiatives and Research Projects as Chief Investigator including Digital classrooms, eduroam India, IPv6 testbeds, YETI Root DNS experimentation, accessible e-governance platforms, and national internet infrastructure projects. He has played pivotal roles in organizations such as ERNET India, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), NIXI, Internet Society and ICANN contributing to policy, standards, and large-scale deployments.
An Information Security Auditor, internationally recognized technologist, and IPv6 Internet Hall of Fame 2024 inductee, he has authored multiple peer-reviewed research publications and is a frequent speaker and trainer at global forums. He currently serves as Chair of the Internet Society Accessibility Standing Group and continues to contribute to global Internet governance, accessibility, and secure digital transformation initiatives.
