Profile

Dr. Tamalika Chaira is working as an Associate Professor with the Department of CSE, South Asian University, New Delhi. Prior to that, she worked as an Associate Professor in The Northcap University, Gurugram and Research Scientist in IIT Delhi after a brief stint as Research Associate in CNR, Pisa, Italy. She completed her PhD on fuzzy based Image processing (Computer Technology - E&ECE) from IIT Kharagpur, M. Tech from IIEST (Indian Institute of Engg. Science and Technology)  Sibpur, Howrah, West Bengal, and B.Tech from Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, Jharkhand from Electronics and Communication. 

She has published 31 papers in refereed international journals and 12 papers in refereed international conferences.

She has authored two text books - Fuzzy Set and its Extension: The Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set, John Wiley and Sons and Medical Image Processing – Advanced Fuzzy set theoretic techniques,  CRC Press. She has also co-authored a text book on Fuzzy image processing and application with MATLAB, CRC Press.

She completed 2 independent research projects with Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under DST Young scientist Award scheme and DBT-IYBA Award scheme. 

She is Member of National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Prayagraj.
