
Dr. Vivek Dixit is
currently working as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in Department of Life
Sciences & Biotechnology at South Asian University (SAU), New Delhi since
01/08/2025. Prior to joining SAU, Dr. Dixit was Assistant Professor of Reproductive
Biology at AIIMS, New Delhi., Dr. Dixit also served as Research Scientist grade
III in the Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Dixit has more
than 22 years of teaching/research experience after obtaining post-graduation.
His research interest includes metabolic bone diseases of elderly, effect of
vitamin D supplementation in various diseases and disorders, bone health in
population, reproductive health and health issues of transgender population. Dr. Dixit did
his Masters in Microbiology (both M.Sc and M.PhiL). Being graviated
towards public & social health, He acquired formal degree in public
health (MPH). Dr. Dixit earned Doctorate from faculty of Medical sciences,
University of Delhi in Endocrinology & metabolism. His thesis was stressed towards
Postmenopausal osteoporosis. He perused postdoctoral fellowship from Hebrew
university of Jerusalem, Israel where
he worked on age related metabolic bone diseases. Dr. Dixit also acquired
formal experience in Epidemiology from University of Southampton UK followed by
observer-ship at Nuffied Orthopaedic Centre, University of Oxford, UK. He was
Hony Advisor at Hind Kusht Nivaran Sangh (HKNS), Indian Leprosy Association,
Indian Red Cross, New Delhi as well. Dr. Dixit also holds an administrative
experience form prestigious institute including IIPA, New Delhi. He served many administrative responsibilities
including Nodal officer (EMP) at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Dr Dixit is a
Reviewer & editor of prestigious journals and published more than 40
articles of national importance in Peer Reviewed Journal. He visited several
countries for research purpose and has many national and international prestigious honors/Awards to credit both in academic & social repute.
For his novel research initiative, He was
awarded by Hon’ble Vice President of India in Vigyan Bhawan. He is also a
recipient of esteemed ‘AWSAR’ award from department of Science & Technology
in 2021. He is a member of many prestigious professional
scientific bodies of the country & west. His community Activities involves with a great passion for environment,
particularly rivers; he is constantly
working in order
to rescuing holy river Yamuna in
Delhi since 11th April 2013.
