Integrated BS-MS Family Connect

The FIDS and FPS, South Asian University, organized an Interactive Welcome Session for the Integrated BS-MS students at the commencement of their third semester following the summer vacation. The programme, titled “Reboot: Monsoon Kickoff”, was held on Monday, 3 August 2026, at 10:00 A.M. in Room ES311. The objective of the session was to warmly welcome the students back to campus, facilitate interaction with faculty members, and familiarize them with the academic roadmap for the new semester.

The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. Trapti Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Chemical Sciences, followed by an Introductory Address by Dr. Jyotsna Sharma, Associate Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, who welcomed the students and encouraged them to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities throughout the semester. This was followed by the Keynote Address delivered by Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who motivated the students to pursue interdisciplinary learning, academic excellence, and innovation.

The session also included the introduction of newly joined faculty members, enabling students to become acquainted with the faculty they would interact with during the semester. Faculty members further discussed important academic initiatives, including EDG and IDOE, and provided guidance regarding the curriculum, academic expectations, and opportunities available during the third semester.

An engaging interactive session followed, during which students reflected on their first-year experiences, shared their expectations for the upcoming semester, and interacted openly with the faculty members. The discussion created a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere, encouraging students to express their ideas and strengthen their connection with the faculty and peers.

After the formal programme, all participants assembled for a group photograph to commemorate the beginning of the new academic semester. The event concluded with high tea, followed by a networking lunch, where students and faculty members interacted informally, fostering stronger academic relationships and a greater sense of community within the Faculty.

The Interactive Welcome Session successfully marked the beginning of the third semester for the Integrated BS-MS students. The programme provided an excellent platform for academic orientation, meaningful faculty-student interaction, and community building, ensuring that students commenced the semester with enthusiasm, confidence, and a renewed commitment to their academic journey.
