
Dr. Apoorv Gupta is working as a Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Biotechnology at South Asian University (SAU), New Delhi. He has over 10 years of experience in Data Science, Database Development, and 5 Years of Clinical Data Management and Geospatial modelling. He obtained his PhD from the DRDO-BU Centre of Life Science, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Prior to joining SAU, He was working as a Data Scientist with the Infectious Disease Data Observatory (IDDO), Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Nuffield School of Medicine, Oxford University, for 4 Years. He was coordinating all India activities of IDDO in India, which includes data management of RCT Trial, Development of an active intelligent dashboard for site selection of antimalarial resistance mapping in India, etc. Dr. Apoorv also worked with NIMR-ICMR-Dwarka, Gastroenterology Department, AIIMS- Delhi, Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS)-DRDO, Delhi. His notable work includes “Geospatial models for mapping antimalarial drug resistance in India and bordering regions” and “Laboratory Information Management System for Asia’s largest Celiac Biorepository”, online repositories like HAHmiRDB, MyomirDB, HighaltitudeDB etc. Dr. Apoorv Gupta also has industrial and entrepreneurship experience. He is a part of many start-ups like MRD Life Sciences and Reviana Innovations Pvt Ltd. He has filed 5 Indian patents, and 2 of them are granted. He has developed IoT Technologies and AI/ML pipelines for diagnostics and population screenings. Some of his work includes “Development of IoT device for AI screening of blood slides for malaria diagnostics”, “Pipeline for Molecular biomarker identification in seasonal cardiovascular comorbid diseases (SCCD)”. He has also represented his work in national and international platforms like BioASIA2023, , JITMM-Thailand, ICTMM- Malaysia, BEST INDIA 2013, etc.
