Advertisement for the Position of Assistant Professors (Non-Tenure Track)

 

South Asian University (SAU), an international university established and funded by the SAARC Member States, with a scenic campus developed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in New Delhi, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) on a fixed-term basis.

 

We seek outstanding, highly productive scholars with demonstrated academic excellence and strong potential to excel in teaching, research, and other academic activities.

 

Qualifications

Academic Excellence: Applicants must be outstanding and highly productive scholars with strong potential for excellence in teaching and research.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • A PhD from a recognized and reputed university/institution; and
  • A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with:
    • at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade (for Science disciplines); or
    • at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade (for Social Sciences and Humanities).

Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with high-quality research publications in reputed journals, conference proceedings, books, and other recognized scholarly publications.

 

Nature of Appointment

  • The appointment will be for a fixed term of three years, extendable by up to two additional years on a year-to-year basis, subject to satisfactory performance and institutional requirements.
  • The appointment carries a one-year probation period. Salary, Benefits, Allowances, and Other Facilities
  • Annual Salary: USD 10,000–15,000, with an annual increment of 3%.
  • Professional Development Allowance: USD 2,000 per year, which may be availed of as a block grant covering a period of up to three years.
  • House Rent Allowance: 25% of the basic salary is provided as House Rent Allowance (HRA) if campus housing is not available.
  • Cost of Living Adjustment: As approved by the University from time to time.
  • Health Coverage: Health and medical benefits in accordance with the SAU Rules and Regulations.
  • Tax Benefits: Salary and allowances are exempt from income tax in accordance with the applicable SAU provisions.
  • Leave: Duty leave, casual leave, medical leave, and other leave entitlements as per the University’s Rules, Regulations, and Bye-laws.

 

Requirements

Applications are invited for positions in the Faculties of Computer Science and Engineering, Economics, International Studies, Legal Studies, Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Physics, Management, and Sociology.

 

*For life science and Biotechnology, BVSc degree is compulsory

 

Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and research and are expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, student mentoring, research, laboratory development (where applicable), and other academic responsibilities.
