Dr Shweta Singh, Associate Professor, Department of International Relations, Faculty of International Studies, was invited to speak on, ‘UNSCR 1325, and the Voice of the Afghan Woman: Re-thinking Resistance in the Age of Ruptures’ at the ICWA International Conference on the theme “Women Across Geographies: Issues & Perspectives”. The session titled, “Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) – Beyond the Battlefield” was chaired by Ms. Rita Manchanda, Former Executive Director, South Asia Forum of Human Rights, New Delhi, and other speakers in the session included Prof Rina Kashyap, Professor, Delhi University, New Delhi; Lt. Col. Suman Gawani, Former United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Peacekeeper, New Delhi. In the Inaugural Session, the Special Address was delivered by Smt. Vijaya K Rahatkar, Chairperson, National Commission for Women, New Delhi.
